Scott ad Jean pull in the driveway to the mansion.

Scott: Oh, yeah! Let the weekend begin! Whoo-hoo! Ha ha!

Jean: Wait! You're forgetting your homework! [sighs] make that ignoring it. *hears something in the bushes* Hello? Kitty, are you climbing trees again? Evan, is that you? Huh?

Toad: Oh, so that's the way you wanna play, huh?

Jean: Toad, what are you doing?

Toad: Ooh! Gettin' a jump on the competition, yo. Heh heh. You want some of this?

Jean: Toad, what are you trying to prove? Unh! Uh! That I'm a champ, not a chump, yo. And guess what? We all gotta prove it.

Surfer Guy #1: Alex! I don't see him.

Surfer Guy #2: There he is, lounging, the bum. Wanna paddle out there?

Surfer Guy #1: Nah. He looks like he just wants to be alone.

Surfer Guy #2: We'll catch up to him later.

Alex is hanging on his surfboard. Beneath him is a shark, which rams his board.

Alex: huh? Hunh! *his hands glow red and he zaps the shark* huh? What?

At the mansion.

Logan: So, the new Cerebro is online.

Professor X: Yes. It has pinpointed the emergence of a new mutant, only partially developed.

Logan: Yeah? So what's the emergency?

Professor X: His name is Alex Masters, once known as Alex Summers, Scott's brother.

Logan: Brother? I thought Scott was the only one to survive that plane crash.

Professor X: Yeah, so did I, and so does Scott. Have him meet us in the hangar. We're flying to Hawaii. Oh, and, uh, logan... let's be prepared for trouble. I doubt we're the only ones who have an interest in this young man.

Alex: Ah...man... what is goin' on with me?

Magneto: I know the kind of pain you're feeling, Alex. I once had it myself.

Alex: But...wha? What? Where did you come from?

Magneto: I've just arrived to see you because I know-

Alex: You don't know nothin', man! Just back off! Creep.

Magneto: Your bones, they burn. Your hands ache. The pressure in your head. I can give you relief and answers. You never have to feel pain again.

Alex: You some kind of doctor?

Magneto: No, Alex. I am Magneto. And I have come to offer you sanctuary.

Back to the mansion. Hangar for the Blackbird.

Scott: What? My little brother?

Professor X: He's...he's... alive, Scott. Alex is alive.

Scott: Oh, man. I thought he was gone or--or I would've been out looking for him. I should have been looking for him. I mean, I just accepted it. Why didn't i-

Professor X: Easy, Scott. Take a breath. Don't blame yourself.

Scott: But all this time... where has he been?

Professor X: Well, as far as I can determine, living with foster parents in Hawaii.

Scott: Then come on. Let's go!

Blackbird takes off.

Evan: Hey, what's the sitch? I thought we were Hawaii-bound.

Kurt: Here I am, ready to give my all to the cause. Hula-hula. Oh, man!

Rogue: We got totally ditched.

Kitty: Hey, you can't blame Scott. Meeting a brother he hasn't seen in, like, 10 years? I wouldn't want a crowd, either. No way.

Kurt: Hey! I'm thinking. Hawaii. Not the only beaches in the world, right? Hello? Road trip, anyone?

Ouside the mansion.

Evan: Hustle it up, Rogue, before Auntie-O shows up and dry docks our plans.

Rogue: *some cat is hanging around her feet* shoo! I hate cats. I couldn't find Jean, so I left her a note.

They pull away and the cat morphs into Mystique.

Mystique: *talk to radio* Change of plans. They're on the move.

Lance: *on the radio* Not for long.

To the Blackbird

Scott: You see anything?

Logan: No. And the tide's coming in. This cove'll be underwater in an hour.

Professor X: Take a closer look around.

Logan and Scott go outside onto the beach.

Scott: Do you think it's his? *surfboard*

Logan: Maybe. Hmm. Looks like company dropped in on him, literally, and left the same way.

Scott: What kind of company?

Logan: Magneto.

Scott: Who? Logan, who's Magneto?

Logan: I got a feeling you're about to find out.

Professor X: [telepathic] I know you're here, Magneto. I can sense it. Show yourself.

Magneto picks up the Blackbird.

Logan: Ugh! It's him! *Logan chases the plane and grabs on as it flies away*

Scott: Alex?

Scott: Alex? Is it really you?

Alex: Scott? Scott! Ha ha ha! Man, it's like you came back from the dead! I've had dreams just like this.

Scott: Me, too! Oh, wow! Man, this one's real, though. And look at you. What happened to that scrawny little kid I used to pick on?

Alex: Oh, hey, that reminds me. *punches Scott* oof! I owed you that for 10 years.

Scott: Ha ha. And you still hit like a girl.

Alex: Believe me, bro, there's more to this punch than you know. I still can't believe it. When Magneto told me you were showing up, I- Scott: Whoa. Wait. Magneto? You're with him? That guy just kidnapped my professor!

Alex: No, no, no. You got it wrong. He told me all about it. He just wants to show him something. Come here for a second. He wants to show all of us.

Scott: All?

Alex: Yeah, you know, mutants. He told me you were one. And guess what, so am I. see? Check this out. I couldn't believe it. I got these powers growing inside of me. man, I was freaked out until Magneto clued me in. He's great, Scott. He knows so much. He wants to meet with us, that's all. I'm going. I mean, how could I not? But you gotta come too, ok?

Scott: That thing there, it'll take us to Magneto?

Alex: Yeah, come on. It's kind of scary, you know? But exciting. Please?

Scott: Ah, this just doesn't smell right, Alex. But...i'll go. Just to keep an eye on you and to find Professor X.

They get into the sphere and it takes off.

Magneto *telepathic*: Charles, relax. I am in control.

Professor X: What is this about, Magneto?

Magneto: I am simply taking steps to ensure our survival. We both know that humankind will not only learn of us, but they will fear us, for we are the future. And what man fears he tramples. So I shall be ready for them.

Logan is hanging off the place.

Magneto: Ah, yes, Wolverine. The man with the adamantium claws. Of course, adamantium is a metal, and I'm sure you must realize that ... am the master of magnetism.

He knocks Logan off the plane. He falls to the ocean below.

Logan: Aah! [

Back to the mansion.

Storm: Hello? Anyone home? Professor? *the cat is back* Oh. Hello. You're not quite the kitty I was hoping to see. Can you tell me where everyone's gone? [meow] logan? [rarr] [meow] *Mystique morphs from the cat* Well, look what the cat dragged in.

Mystique and Storm fight.

Over to the kids in the jeep.

Rogue: Oh, man. You feel that ocean breeze? I've been going into meltdown here, all covered up like this. I hate it.

Kurt: Yeah? You should try being blue and furry. It's murder.

The road starts to move.

Rogue: Kurt! The road!

All: whoa! unh!

Kurt: What is going on?!

Kitty: it's Lance Alvers and his buddies!

All: aah!

Evan: I'll slow him down! *throws spikes*

Pietro: Now, avalanche!

All: whoa! Hey! Oh! Aah!

Fred jumps in front stopping them.

Fred: Grrr! Come here often?

Lance: Let's party.

Logan arrives on shore. Sniffs around and realizes that he's not alone.

Sabretooth: Hmm. You look tired. Hard to stay afloat with metal bones, huh?

Logan: Why do I get the feeling I wasn't dropped here by accident?

Sabretooth: Huh. You got that right, bub. [roar]

Up to Asteroid M.

Professor X: What is this place?

Magneto: Welcome, Charles, to sanctuary. Asteroid m.

Professor X: What is all of this about?

Magneto: A rebirth. Your x-men face a trial by fire, as do my own... recruits. Mutant pitted against mutant. One shall lose, one shall win. *scenes of Mystique and Storm fighting, Logan and Sabretooth, and the students* Only those who emerge victorious shall take their place here on asteroid m. Once gathered here in this place of solitude, they can then fully realize their mutant abilities, safe from those who might mistreat them. Professor X: Magnus, don't do this. We can introduce ourselves to mankind as friends, not enemies.

Magneto: You are an idealist, Charles. I am a realist. It's a dark future that rushes towards us, and we must face it prepared.

Back to the beach with the students. The brotherhood thought they won.

Toad: Unh! Hey, man, that didn't take too long at all.

Except the X-men reappear.

Pietro: Time to prove yourself, Evan!

Fred: And you're staying behind! Whoa, oh! Huh? *he pounces on Kitty*

Kitty: Yuck! Blob-ola. I like totally need a shower now. Oh...ohhh.

Lance: Huh? Rrrr. *Lance drops Kurt under rocks*

Pietro: I got you beat, and you know it, Evan! 'Cause I always speed to the top! *buries Evan in sand*

Rogue: *beating Toad* Can't say I much want your slimy thoughts in my head, Toad, but I'm dropping you right here.

Lance: Relax, Rogue. It's over.

Fred: And here comes your reward.

MystiqueL Give up, and I'll make this quick, wind-rider. I shouldn't even have to prove myself to him.

Storm: I don't know why you have chosen to attack me. and in truth, I don't much care. This is my home. And you are not welcome here.

The sphere arrives and takes Storm by force.

Over to Logan and se's fight.

Logan: Tell me where Magneto took Xavier, and maybe I'll go easy on you. Maybe.

Sabretooth: Hey, he had it easy- a free pass to sanctuary while the rest of us got to fight to get in, which actually suits me just fine.

Up to the asteroid.

Magneto: The gathering is almost complete. Just Wolverine and Sabretooth to go. A storm is coming for mutantkind, charles. And our resolve must be iron-clad. Side with me, not against me.

Professor X: Your invitation begs the question- what happens to those who won't come willingly?

Magneto: If necessary, sometimes salvation must be force-fed.

We see the X-men in glass tubes.

Professor X: Magnus, you haven't saved them. You've abducted them.

Magneto: A certain amount of persuasion may still be needed, I'll admit. But for every unbeliever... there is a new convert. *Scott and Alex enter in Magneto garb*

Xavier: Scott, no!
