A.N: Okay it’s been done before, but hopefully not like this. Hope is my character, but you can use her if you ask and I say yes. Now for the customary READ & REVIEW!

"What now!?" Dr. Hope Chandler stomped to the door of her apartment, which had been knocked on. She was already late for her shift in the Trauma Center at Charity Hospital, and now she had to deal with who ever was outside her door. Hope ripped the door open and looked outside, "What?" she asked sharply. There where few things in life that Hope wished she had never said, and speaking sharply to the man outside her door was one of them. He was a few inches taller than she was, he looked like he could fight his way out of any situation that would kill any normal person, his features where wolf-ish and his eyes looked like they where not expecting Hope. She couldn’t fault him for being a little startled, Hope had woken up late, taking time only to brush her teeth, dress in old jeans way to large for her, a Yankees baseball jersey, and had decided on just tying her hair back instead of combing it. Not quite sure what to think of each other, Hope and the stranger just looked at each other unsure of what to do or say.

"Logan, I do believe she will not know who you are." this was a voice Hope recognized, and she pushed the guy blocking her doorway, apparently named Logan, and looked down the hall. While it was not the Hank she remembered, the beastly form of his mutation changing him completely from the Hank she use to take Biology with, she could tell it was him by his eyes.

"My lord Hank, what happened? I thought you had gotten control of it." Hope stopped halfway from reaching Hank noticing the man in a wheel chair next to him.

"Please Hope, we need to talk with you, may we come in?" Hope snapped out of her revere, and walked past Logan.

"Hank I’m going to be late for my shift and I’m going to get fired, and get in here." The three men walked in, all standing in the small living room the single room apartment, which was soon going to be a loft in Chicago, once Hope got her transfer. "Okay Hank you have," Hope looked around Logan to see she had ten minutes to get to Charity, "Five minutes."

"I tried calling you, but you phone was disconnected,"

"I got back from work dead on my feet, so I unplugged it." Hope interrupted him,

"I wanted to offer you a job." This was the man in the wheel chair, "I am Charles Xavier, I run a school for gifted students, and your talents are needed for teaching." Hope smiled at Charles, she had heard of him, rich guy with lots of spare time spent on questionable activities at this school of his.

"Mr. Xavier, since you have come here with Hank I assume you know about my own gift, but I will have to turn down your offer, teaching kids sex ed is not what I want to do with my life." Hope could not see what had brought Hank, Charles Xavier, and wolf boy Logan to her door. The idea of teaching gifted kids could not be why the three of them had come here and make her late for work. She could also sense time slipping away and she could sense something big was on its way to the hospital, which would undoubtedly need her attention.

"You will not be teaching normal students," Charles continued

"I know, gifted kids." Impatient to be on her way Hope’s temper was flaring its wings.

"I teach at this school." Hank said, and Hope stopped thinking about how to get the three out of her apartment, and looked at Hank eyebrows raised.

"You teach there? So would I be teaching gifted kids who have really open minds or would I be teaching Homo Superior?" Hope distended from using ‘mutant’ since it was not the medical term for gifted humans, and she found it slightly insulting to be called something that comic book heroes, and B movie monsters were called.

"I saw your report on mutants in Scientific Journal, and I was intrigued. I think the students at my school would benefit from your theories. Give them a better understanding medically on what they are." Hope caught the hint that Xavier had thrown her way, "I am ready to offer you free room and board, along with all the time off you may need." Xavier’s offer floored Hope; work really didn’t seem to matter anymore.

"You mean you’d let me have a class full of Homo Superior to teach, to work on my classifications and I can study them and their healing behavior?" Which was what Hope was truly interested in, she herself had gone into the medical field due to her own gift, and how it effected her medically, and now she had a chance to check all the theories she had developed over the years, and gain more knowledge.

"Not medical testing, my students are not lab rats." Hope nodded at Xavier.

"I don’t mean sticking them on a giant hamster wheel and seeing how long they can run for, I just want to observe them, check my theories, see if I’m the next Noble Prize winner, or if I’m an idiot." Her beeper went off, she looked down to check it. A shooting was heading in, and where the hell was she was the read out.

"I will understand if we have to continue this at a later date." Xavier said, Hope sighed and ran her hands down over her face.

"Mr. Xavier, I will call you, or Hank can call me tomorrow, or something, but right now I have a code blue to attend to." Hope bolted out the door, grabbing her cell phone, and I.D. on the way out.

"You were right Hank, I do think she will fit in rather well at the Institute." Xavier smiled at the fleeing form of Dr. Hope Chandler.

"Too high strung." Logan said walking out of the apartment.
